Guatapé is more than a quick stop at the rock. A day here can combine the landscapes around El Peñol, a walk through the town and time by the reservoir. Choose the experiences that interest you rather than trying to fit everything into one visit.
Decide whether you want to climb
Climbing the Peñol Rock involves a long staircase. It is optional, and the admission is confirmed separately in your proposal. Let your guide know if you prefer to enjoy the view from the surrounding area or if members of your group want different plans.
Make time for the town
Walk around the streets with painted zócalos and spend time near the waterfront. This is a good part of the day to slow down, look at the details and talk with your guide about what you are seeing.
Discuss activities on the water
Boat trips and other reservoir activities are optional. Confirm the type of activity, time, operator and what is included before adding it. Weather and availability can affect the plan, so keep your priorities clear when arranging the visit.
